Getting a Feel for It: Using Objects in Body-Oriented Coaching

(Part of The Somatic Shift Series)

Sometimes the most profound insights don’t come from talking about the issue—they come from holding it in your hand.

Object Feedback is a playful, imaginative coaching skill that invites clients to engage with an ordinary object as a stand-in for something meaningful in their lives. This hands-on process activates sensory awareness, emotional clarity, and spontaneous insight.

In this experiential session, you’ll learn how to:

-Introduce Object Feedback as a creative coaching experiment
-Guide clients to explore their relationship to what the object represents
-Follow somatic cues, movement, and imagination as the session unfolds
-Close the process with insight and integration—without forcing meaning

This isn’t about being clever. It’s about creating space for something new to emerge—through presence, play, and curiosity.

Join Nathan Blair, Founder of The Somatic School, for this instalment of the Somatic Shift Series and discover how the simplest object can open a whole new conversation.
